Mallorca
Mallorca, the island of understated luxury
The most international of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca competes with the likes of Abu Dhabi and Dubai as a holiday destination. The Serra de Tramuntana is one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, with its panoramic views of its limestone peaks and cliffs, characterised by goldstone villages and planted with olive trees, almond trees, and oranges.

Discover luxury retreats in Deià, Valldemossa and Sóller, picturesque towns where you can disconnect from the bustle of the island. Take a stroll down Cala Tuent, a beautiful cove surrounded by a pine forest, and fall in love with Sa Calobra, a beach next to Torrent de Pareis. Renowned as a natural source of creative inspiration, it also hosts an annual choir concert thanks to its unique acoustics. Surrounded by small cliffs and ancient docks, Cala Deià is a celebrity favourite and remains the top choice for an Instagram snap.

The island is famous for its rich gastronomy. Michelin star restaurant Argos is a contemporary restaurant in Goleta Hotel de Mar, located in Port de Pollensa. Other prestigious eating spots include Es Fum, Zaranda, Es Racó d’es Teix, Jardín, Andreu Genestra and Bou.

With its palaces and promenades, high-end shopping and chic restaurants, Mallorca’s capital Palma has a lot to offer. If you fancy doing something other than museum-hopping, you can’t miss a saunter down the paseo marítimo, a coast-side boardwalk. Stop by GaritoCaféBarClub, an iconic spot renowned for great wines, and wander down the marina up to La Lonja, the Royal Palace of Almundaina and the magnificent Mallorca Cathedral.

Have a relaxing evening getting an aromatic massage in one of the many health spas. For dinner try Aromata, where they serve creative cuisine created by award-winning chef Andreu Genestra. End the night on a high and go for a drink in the beautiful Ábaco Cocktail Bar, a unique bar set in a converted sixteenth century Baroque palace

In spite of its fame, over the last few years Mallorca has captured the attention of artists and intellectuals who flee from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy districts and take sanctuary in the hidden corners of the island. Bask in the creative energy of one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean.
